About Me

Hi There, My name is Titilayo Adeda, the human behind this part of the internet. I am a Nigerian, a lady, a wife and a mother currently navigating life in the UAE. I grew up and lived in Lagos, Nigeria for most of my life, but schooled in the UK for 4 years between 2007 and 2011. I worked in the finance industry in Nigeria as an Investment banker and Corporate treasurer before relocating to the UAE in 2022 to start a new chapter of my life with my spouse. Since then, I've been on an interesting and fulfilling journey from clueless to thriving in a new city - which in my case is the UAE.

Being an introvert and home buddy, the settling in phase in a new city initially left me clueless and anxious as I struggled through the major emotional stages of a relocation. In addition to the emotional rollercoaster of trying to settle in, I struggled to secure a job despite endless job application and cold emails. In restrospect however, I am thankful for the challenges, as this has birthed my decision to set up this blog and my interior design firm, a passion I have always had despite my decade long career in the finance industry.

My mission for the blog is to give readers a detailed and real time guide for moving and relocating into a new city and are also new to the journey of entrepreneurship. Interestingly, as I initially struggled as a clueless expatriate in UAE, I made up my mind to document the process and build a community for individuals who needed encouragement and useful tips in settling into a new city like myself. This was further reinforced while I listened to a book recently by Steven Bartlett “ Diary of a CEO” where he highlighted that the best way to master something is to create an obligation to teach it.
